The Call of the Sun is a multidisciplinary project which focuses on the explosive growth of the British package holiday with a particular focus on Benidorm - often described as the birthplace of mass tourism. It explores how package holidays are marketed to working- and lower-middle-class families through language and imagery designed to both excite and reassure first-time travellers.
